WordPress website and blog journal: GJ Mann and ‘The Buried Doctrine’: gjmann.org

Today, I have just thought it’s time to get back to work. Getting back to a blog a week. My intention is to publish a blog a week.

This week’s blog comes from a blend of research and some writing I’ve started on my next book in ‘The Corleone Christ,’ trilogy.

The title of today’s blog is both a metaphor and a tragic reality. It speaks to one of the three powerful themes of the trilogy, the climate and Planet Earth. The link below speaks for itself about one small, tragic, example of poisoning, from a whole planet full of water.

My new WordPress website Book Page, ‘The Corleone Christ’ provides the image of the first volume Book Cover and its back cover summary. Scrolling down the page, you’ll find the beginnings of a personal journal which will, I very much hope, set up some conversations along the journey in the writing the second book.

To start off the journal I have shared an opening draft of the first scene, and I thought I would share just a few lines to for this new series of blogs published on WordPress and posted on Facebook.

The whole opening draft can be found on gjmann.org.

Day 1

The Solimoes River, Amazonia.

A group of Ticuna children were fishing from their village near Tabatinga, on the Solimoes River.

Looking up from their lines, they noticed the bow of a canoe silently making its way through the early morning mist. The heads of the boat’s occupants appeared to float above the line of fog; the rhythm of the blades of the paddles dipped, fore and aft, above and below the surface of the river.

In these days of little rain, the children were standing on what was once the rivers bed. Every year the mighty river was shrinking from its original bank. At first, the rainforest had mysteriously spoken in a faint, dry whisper. But now it growled desperately from deep inside its parched throat.

The children’s elders often spoke to them in these last days, saying, “You younger ones, you are the future. It has been written, if the forest dies, we people, and the sacred, black jaguar, will die……….”

Can I thank you for visiting and rejoining this blog on both WordPress and Facebook? I hope you enjoy my new website.

Take Care,

GJ Mann
