‘The Corleone Christ:’ Holy Empire. Unholy Crimes.

GJ Mann and ‘The Buried Doctrine’

This post is continuing my new online series which speaks directly from my published political crime thriller, ‘The Corleone Christ.’ This Papal mobster, is a man made, corrupted theology which still lives inside many of us today.

Buried in the attached image, ‘The Doctrine of Discovery’, is exhumed, but undead; a Doctrine which stoked Great Britain, Spain, Portugal and other European nations to commit 500 years of crimes against humanity which still, to this day, justify the European theft of whole Continents, children and people into slavery.

Even today, in the Caribbean, a British King, Charles 111 and his British Prime Minister have been pressed by the descendants of the slave trade, to apologise. Will they apologise, will they formally repudiate the Doctrine, still used as a legal fiction to own Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA.

This post is dedicated to Isaac Lightfoot and introducing him to you. He is one of my first imagined characters. He and I spent a long time together; I hope you will want to spend some time with him yourself.

Synopsis.

‘Isaac was 84 years of age. He was a registered Cherokee Indian.

Sitting on his bench, Isaac seemed comfortable in his blue jeans and moccasins. Looking down the garden his brown, weathered face, was framed by a silver head of hair; two long, white/grey braids resting on either side of his dark blue shirt front. He wore matching turquoise bead bracelets on both wrists, together with a necklace, fashioned in the same stone.

Suddenly, Isaac quickly turned to look behind him.

Lately, he’d begun to feel spooked in his garden; he could hear sounds of digging. Some days he heard a male voice humming a tune and the persistent squeak of a single wheelbarrow wheel; on other days there was just an aroma of tobacco smoke passing close by him.

As the dawn lightened, Isaac returned to thinking about the U.S. Presidents political statement about a Chinese genocide against the Uyghur people; for him it was laughable; it was nothing more than a childlike hypocrisy; after all, hundreds of thousands of First Nation Indian children had been compulsorily removed from the safety of their parent’s love, not by China, but by the U.S. Federal Government itself! Whole Indian Nations had been forced onto reservations.

At these times of remembering Isaac felt anxious; his breathing became laboured; privately, he was increasingly worried about his health and his state of mind.

Deep down, Isaac knew from long experience, he’d heard these sounds in the past. Even so, these sounds and smells never failed to take him by surprise; he knew they belonged in his childhood; but knowing this made little difference; a period of panic and anxiety was taking him back in time, as sure as night followed day.

Dark figures of men and women towered over him and surrounded the four-year-old child inside himself; Isaac was looking down on himself as a child, as if watching the scene from the ceiling; ‘White Man’ staff wrestled him to the floor, cutting his braids and stripping him of the clothes his mother and grandmother had made for him.’

Book One — out now

The Corleone Christ

They buried the truth for generations. Now it’s rising with a vengeance. In this pulse-pounding thriller, truth, trauma, and justice collide on the fault lines of culture, faith, and power.
