As a species we still believe it is our right to strip out natural resources, burn carbon and warm the only home planet we have; a planet we need to protect, heal and live on in peace.
The Doctrine of Discovery very much connects to Climate Change. It seeks to infect humanity with values of human greed and superiority through the conquer of nature, marginalising the most important human, First Nation knowledge base and culture. Our ancient understanding of the lands we humans have known since our original point of discovery is vital to our survival; First Nation people know the needs of the Great Mother Herself; humanity must evolve and listen.
I have researched the environmental literature of First Nation authors, speaking powerfully about First Nation ‘traditional knowledge’, vitally protecting important parts of the Earths biosphere today. So, I have also sourced powerful, indigenous, scientific and journalistic literature demonstrating the destructive tensions between illegal loggers, miners and First Nation people living in their own ancestral lands.
I very much hope this personal story about how ‘The Corleone Christ’ was inspired, conceived and written will encourage you to visit my website and consider experiencing and enjoying what I believe to be a powerful, thrilling story built from the ideological roots of colonialism and our lives on a warming planet; speaking about our evolving relationships with the biospheres, other species and vital habitats on land, in rivers and our seas.
